Construction of Place de la Concorde began in 1775 and was completed in 1775. It was built by Louis XVs architect, Gabriel. It is an octagonal shape and was the place where important events took place such as the execution of Louis XVI
With the obelisk at its centre, offered to Charles x by the viceroy of Egypt, the statues and and its majestic expanse, Place de la Concorde is one of the most beautiful squares in Paris. The rostral columns in the square were renovated in 1995. You can admire these majesticperspectives from the VoieTriomphale at the Arc de Triomphe and also from La Défense via le Grand Louvre. There is also a stunning view from La Madelaine and the Bourbon Palace.
