Also known as the Bourbon Palace, this monument started being built in 1722 and was completed in 1728 under the orders of the Duchess of Bourbon (daughter of Louis xiv) It was then extended by Prince Condé between 1764 and the Revolution. After being given to the Council of 500 in 1795, a room for holding meetings was built and opened in 1798. It became the seat of the Legislative Body then the Chamber of Deputies and finally the National Assembly. The library domes were carried out by Delacroix.
